Marinomed Biotechnologie GmbH

The Marinomed Biotechnologie GmbH was founded in 2006 and develops innovative drugs from natural-, mainly marine resources in the fields of immunology, allergy and infectious diseases. Marinomed is a spin-off company of the Veterinary University Vienna with a team of 18 employees. The expertise of the team covers the fields of virology/infectious diseases, allergy/immunology and marine biotechnology. This is combined with a strong background in product development in biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical companies. The first product of the company is an anti-viral nasal spray for a prophylactic and causal treatment against common cold. For the second lead-compound of the company, an immunemodulating ingredient against Type I and IV allergy, proof-of-concept in man starts in 2009.
